What kind of beverage is that? I wanna nyan.
Soju.
It is a little bit like vodka. It is served ice cold, tastes like mildly sweet water and comes in a beer-style bottle so people who don’t know what it is drink way too much of it too fast and then get hit like a hammer. The bottles are meant to be poured into shot glasses and shared. It has 20-25% alcohol content and some drinks are sold premixed with a juice flavor like the example in the picture.
It is extremely cheap too in South Korea. You can buy a 20 pack case for less than $1/bottle there. You can get alcohol poisoning for less than $10.
Thanks!
It’s soju, a Korean grain spirit, traditionally made with rice. This one is peach flavored, which means it barely tastes like alcohol and goes down extra easy, since most soju nowadays is low proof liquor.
