How is that a criticism? That’s, in fact, the point: That no one is beyond salvation! That you, yes, even, you, no matter what you’ve done, can still repent and be saved by the Grace of Christ! That it’s never too late for anyone, even in their last breath (or if you’re a Christian Universalist, even beyond their last breath).
It’s not like it’s a cheat code. True repentance is hard, no matter when you do it. You can’t book it like a dentist’s appointment. You have to dig all the filth out of your own heart, hold it up to the light and reject it. How much harder, when you have a while lifetime of it to reject!
