Aside from the leadership, how is this fork different from organic maps?
The theming is different, team uses open-source platforms such as Codeberg/Lemmy/Mastodon instead of Github/Reddit/X and the map data is slightly more up-to-date at June 22 instead of June 8.
in addition to this, their wiki pages on OSM wiki elaborates why CoMaps surged, also its not a dealbreak for me but apparently OrganicMaps is available for older iOS devices (iOS 12.0+) while CoMaps is available on iOS 15.0+
