A trial version of the GOV.UK App is to be available to download on smartphones today, putting public services in people’s pocket to save them from wasting time on admin.
So it’s just an amp version of the gov.uk website? I assume so because after reading the article I’m no clearer on what the point of this app is actually supposed to be. Apparently I can customise it, a feature that I’ve got to be honest I’ve never felt was missing from the website.
I actually think the gov.uk website is really quite good. Certainly a lot easier than it used to be with all of the services and departments having their own website, I’ve never really felt an app is necessary.
