DEI does exist in some places but the reason it exists in the first place is wild when you think about it.
"Hey it looks like we are 95% more likely to reject black people over white people and it’s causing trouble.
with this stupid quota that wouldn’t have to exist if we just didn’t hire the scum of the earth for HR and recruiting positions, we offset that percentage to a whopping 60% so let’s go team."
And then people go protest black people getting jobs while quota thing continues.
Yeah and there are better tactics but they’re hard. I’ve heard of orchestras having auditioners be given a number, have to take off their shoes, and play from behind a curtain. It eliminates any risk of race or gender being involved in the decision. It’s just hard to scale that to other stuff
