If the main character is unlikeable enough to garner that much distaste from the gen pop, maybe the show isn’t as “good” as you seem to think, though? Especially if that’s only one of its many criticisms. All due respect.
IDK, I think people think if they don’t like the characters, the show isn’t good. The only shows I’ve seen where people disliked the main characters but still liked the show were literally the best things I’ve ever seen, like Succession.
