So far, the first 8 hours after the Pope died. Bluesky and Reddit (and I assume Lemmy, I haven’t looked at front page) are absolutely full of JD Vance chanting, this time less “couch couch couch” compulsive behaviors, but about his super-powers with the Pope.
The issue is the same as December 4, 2024 murder in Manhattan. The “Clown Population” can not get a 2010 book published by a law professor to the front of Bluesky and Reddit social media systems, people can only get reactions to status symbols / icons in meme stupors over the symbolic arrangement of the Vatican and Vice President of the White House.
People can not resist mocking the individual status symbol and icon trees and do not see the “Clown Population” problem of the entire USA nation being a forest of clowns. This is the very basis of power of the White House and Vatican both, symbolism systems where people are unable to resist unusual mannerisms, funny clothes, expensive lavish buildings (Trump Tower, Church buildings for the Vatican), etc.

If it were only Reddit and not the entire American population behaving in LOL LOL LMAO amused at Elon Musk, JD Vance, RFK Jr, Donald Trump. That’s why all these people keep going to the top of society / federal government, they have their finger on Internet consumers of junk memes and antics audience laugh-track comedy. A 78 year old Reality TV star is America’s great taste in meme-joke Twitter-reaction engagement.

Have you seen that picture of the ex South Korean president wearing a ‘Make Korea Great Again’ hat? Did you see the ‘Make Europe Great Again’ clowns that were in the news a couple of months ago? Did the see the headlines about the USA dictating to the UK about hate speech policies? Did you hear about what the UK supreme court recently ruled, conveniently a couple of months into the Trump administration and in the middle of them making demands? Have you ever heard of this American platform called ‘Twitter / X’ that has been getting blamed for the rise of misinformation and right wing figures across the world? Facebook perhaps? How about the USA wanting to annex Canada and Greenland? Heard about that?
Like it or not, American news IS world news. And now more than ever would be the dumbest time to stick your head in the ground and stop paying attention to what’s going on over there.
