Things were getting good. it was still the fairly early days of the internet and while speeds for the majority of people weren’t great honestly unless you were in college on a T1 line you didn’t know any better. you had IRC, ICQ, AOL IM, Forums, etc so you met and talked to interesting people and friends from the world over. you expressed yourself and found people with similar interests via geocities, livejournal and/or myspace.

Technology was progressing rapidly and new opportunities were opening up. Suddenly you could make a living building said Geocities sites or designing things on your computer. It was a fun time, a lot of cool and interesting things were happening and it felt like things could only go up from there. So yeah, we were hopeful for the future.

I think i’ve seen more people use “-” in emails and what have you more within the past year than ever before and it makes me wonder “did they use chatgpt to write this?”

or I’ve had project managers on jobs I’m consulting for use “final thoughts:” in docs/emails and I know for a fact they didn’t write it. When you use AI pretty much daily for your job like I do you can spot people using it from a mile away. Blog posts, game/movie/book reviews, proposals, emails, etc everyone is using it. Hell you can spot it here on Lemmy and on Reddit very easily. it’s harder to find actual real person written content these days then AI content.

and if they use EM Dashes? 100% it’s AI.

working where exactly? working on a farm that will pay you minimum wage, if that? oh OH I know working in the tech sector where it’s now and has been for the past couple years an absolute nightmare to find a job in.

There are NO jobs out there that will pay for the current cost of living and the ones that COULD aren’t hiring, and if anything, are laying people off. And yeah, these unemployed young men are TOTALLY playing videogames that now cost $80 a pop paid via a job they don’t have.

at this point I wish I owned a crutch factory that produced outstanding crutches. I would make a killing selling them to Israelis.

Hell even here in Canada you have people spray painting Jewish schools, businesses, and what have you. The largest Jewish school here in Toronto has 24/7 police presence they even have a damn SWAT Truck parked outside the school. But as soon as a Pro Palestine protest happens in Toronto oh boy is the Jewish community quick to condemn it and then act surprised when people tell them to fuck off.

And yes I’m well aware that not all Jewish people support what Israel is doing but it gets drowned out by those that would love nothing more than to wipe the Palestine people off the face of the earth and claim their land.

And it’s not like these people learned nothing from the Holocaust, oh no dear reader they learned plenty. They learned how to commit genocide and use those that were murdered in the Holocaust as props to proudly say “it’s our turn now.”

I don’t think it’s a matter of the sale is meh but most of the stuff with deep discounts is always on sale with previous sales and thus I already picked that stuff up. You’ll constantly see the same games over and over with each sale and when you participate in each sale that number of games to get great deals on becomes less and less.

I was banned once for saying “slava ukraini” which according to my ban was a direct attack at a minority (apparently russians are a minority according to reddit bots) and then another for asking how long before citizens begin shooting at ICE agents which, again according to reddit bots, was inciting violence on a minority (ICE agents are now also a minority according to reddit).

the vast majority of posts and comments are bots. the obvious reposts with misleading titles to generate karma to allow said bots to have enough karma to then post on various other subreddits to push whatever bullshit agenda or product they want to push.

depends on what day of the week it is. if it’s a weekday then I turn on the TV and watch like Power Rangers or whatever was on during Fox Kids Mornings. Or if i’m in my bedroom where I didn’t have cable then bleh had to watch Global (Canada) and it was carebears or inspector gadget or something in the mornings. OR just put on the Genesis/SNES.

If it’s Saturday then I’m up early to go to the basement to watch cartoons all morning.

my favourite was the 3D “file system” in Jurassic Park.
