  • You’ve got a point in that modern society is complex and confusing, but it is navigable.

I massively hate the New Thought idea that its “all about mindset, man!” Because its not. There is real external bullshit that’s not in our control.

And its valuable to have feelings about that bullshit, but its useless to let it consume us.

I had a similar issue dating. I’m fat and Hispanic. It took me months to finally get a date and I was on the brink for a while, but it was always important to me that I didn’t let the real problem escape me. It wasn’t the women’s fault, it was the dating app, it was corporate greed.

The women are fine generally once you talk to them. The problem is Tinder, bumble, and Hinge aren’t designed to make matching easy for me because we are more likely to pay for the premium tiers.

I wrote a longer post about this for a Buddy of mine

I got over my mild dating app induced woman hating when I realized I probably don’t want to date most women. Your average “Stacy” is as vapid and boring as your average “chad”. I want more than sex I wanted a life partner and I found one after accepting that the 90% rejections I got was fine and just a normal part of the dating process.

    Atheist here, interestingly he doesn’t!

God is bound by linear time apparently since he regretted making man as revealed to Noah before the flood.

You can’t regret things if you knew it would happen and you’re all knowing.

So he is demonstrably not all knowing and not all powerful.

But this does mean free will exists under christian logic. Which you can also just completely ignore since its not real anyways.

  • As a pro gun pro hunting guy

Do you actually need to depend on venison for food or do you choose to?

Personally, I think hunting is a good way to stay mindful of the food chain and what it takes to eat meat. If one is going to eat meat I view this as the most ethical way to do it.

    But its not necessary.

Unless you’re doing the whole process yourself (which you might be) then its not cheaper than purchasing meat. And also its not better for you health wise unless you have some sorta allergy to beef. I guess its more lean, but truthfully I’d rather have smaller portions of fatty meat for flavor and health benefit reasons than more frequent lean meat.

I’d personally prefer to keep my ability to obtain protein myself if needed and the easiest way to do that is with a gun, but I have been looking I to bow hunting because that feels more ethical environmentally and in a lot of ways safer than explosion tubes that I hold next to my face.

So I guess I have two questions. Do you need to hunt? Do you need a gun specifically to hunt?

  • I see what you’re getting at and I think it’s a valid point.

That being said, Jews are targeted by the same types of people leftists organize against. Sure, maybe there isn’t a proper systemic oppression of Jews in western mainstream politics. But there is in under ground fascist politics and in mainstream middle eastern politics and ideologies.

The nuance is that it is going to get worse for the average Jew regardless of their own politics because of the actions of western imperialism and Israeli Fascism. So I will continue to acknowledge the exists of antisemitism and it’s effects in hopes of maintaining a nuanced safe space for Jewish comrades.

  • Its something I’ve become quite judgemental of

“Loyalty” “ungrateful” “respect” “drama” and “hustle” are words I associate now with assholes who have nothing going on in their lives and are certainly the problem.

Its been so nice not being exposed to that pointless negativity thanks to deleting my Facebook.

  • Any recs for good, interesting, and/or accurate Rome movies?

I avoid them myself on principal but I think “King Arthur” (2004) was interesting in that it showed the Romans incorporating conquered people into the roman ranks and using them appropriately. I also liked the implications of the Legendary King Arthur as a semi rebelious roman auxiliary.

But other than that its a back sword and fantasy leather jacket mess. However, I won’t complain about Keira Knightly in fantasy war bikinis.

Plot I remembered being good but I was too much of a nerd to focus on it.
