Re: the mystery piece- My paleontologist buddy says “You’re on the Cretaceous right? That is a Baculite. A cephalopod. Related to belemnites and modern squid. Nice piece. Good find.”

I figured he’d know. It looked similar to a belemnite and that’s his thing. He goes out there a lot.

Also, I’ve had a tinfoil hat itch in the back of my head that the US may be giving allies time to sort their affairs before proceeding with the Epstein case, but I don’t put much stock into it as we live in the dysfunctional timeline.

It’s a training program for how to do research properly. Basically an apprenticeship. Your thesis is your first output and usually done with blood, sweat and tears.
