I grew up on a council estate in the UK it was an unusual layout as each row of houses faced each other but instead of a road in between it was a long strip of grass, brilliant place to play when we were kids as we didn’t need to cross any roads or anything. Until one day the Council diggers turned up, dug up the grass, and replaced it all with dense bushes. Turned out a bunch of the oldies on the estate had complained about kids playing outside Their houses so much, this was the only way they would stop complaining. It was so petty, and really upsetting to have your safe play space taken away when your a kid.
