When did Russell Brand become the newest D-list celeb alt-right convert? I know maintaining relevance is hard but…

He seemed to follow the Left Wing conspiracy theory - - - > Right Wing conspiracy theory path but with a massive dose of ego.

There is a disturbing overlap with certain left circles, usually in the health, wellness, hippie, yoga, meditation area, that shares antivax notions, who then are susceptible to being redpilled because of this overlap

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Russell Brand has vehemently denied “very serious criminal allegations” about his personal life, in a video in which he does not specify what the claims are but insists his relationships have always been consensual.

Andrew Tate, a self-proclaimed misogynist who is awaiting trial on charges of human trafficking, which he denies, and who has claimed in the past that he has been attacked by the media, also appeared to defend Brand, tweeting “welcome to the club” to him.

In his video, Brand decried “coordinated media attacks” in the past against figures such as the controversial podcast host Joe Rogan after he announced he was taking the deworming drug ivermectin to treat Covid-19 in 2021.

The host of the Stay Free with Russell Brand podcast has previously appeared to promote “natural immunity” over vaccines.

While he has always been a contrarian, the Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor has drifted from being a mainstream comedian with leftwing views to something of a figurehead for the online alt-right in recent years.

In July, he shared his platform with the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who has pushed far-right conspiracy theories and was fired from the channel in April.

The original article contains 413 words, the summary contains 195 words. Saved 53%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

Really? I’d have said he’s a figurehead for the alt left

Edit. I stand corrected. Shame, I used to like his stuff

He sort of could’ve been if he stuck with his psudo-hippy crap. Then he started decrying science and vaccines and hanging out with rightoids. The left actually believes in science and doesn’t like obnoxious charlatans like Peterson or Rogan, so his audience shifted.

I guess the shift would have been around the time he began

promoting an energetic blend of conspiracy theories, COVID denial, and the liberal use of capital letters, with videos like “The TRUTH About Pfizer” and “The CDC Are SPYING On You,"

promoting ivermectin for viral infections, and hanging out with Tucker Carlson.

It’s a term reactionaries invented to promote horseshoe theory bullshit and general whataboutism. It’s basically a dogwhistle

hexbear is garbage but “alt-left” is made up reactionary bullshit and if you have any leftist tendencies you’ll do well to keep that out of your vocabulary unless you want to share theories with fascists. That said, if you’re not a leftist, i don’t give a shit what you think and you can say alt left all you want

Alt right = baddies; Alt left = imaginary baddies

Got it. Thanks i am glad I have you to clear these things up for me. Its a good thing hexbears dont use liberal as a slur or hate on anyone that uses non hard left platitudes. Anyone that calls themselves true leftists but has a picture of Che engraved on their eyeballs and fluent in chinese anti west propoganda is not alt left. Gotcha. If you dont see that this anti west sentiment is alt left then I dont know what to tell you.
