It been years since I have read this joke again. Never get old.

10 years of playing Skyrim, never played anything other than Khajits. Best race EVER!

And a leash with someone walking it…

Why are strays so socially accepted?

I think you mean “free range cats”. The term " stray" refers to homeless cats/dogs.

True, but neither is acceptable (on the Americas at least, and most other places).

Really? There are such huge number of cats in cities like Rome or in turkey generally. My cat roams great outdoors on his vacation in summer

You wouldn’t understand, this is a cat thing. In 1979 there was a cat activist named ‘Orange Tabby’ who advocated for all the cats in Europe and was a catalyst in creating a Cat Rights Act. Henceforth all cats are eligible for tuna and vacation once a year.

They’re related to cats from the fertile crescent, so Turkey at least they’re essentially native. The problem with other areas is there’s no native animal that fits the same niche, so they can destroy ecosystems. Many animals have gone extinct largely thanks to the domestic cat.

I know this but I don’t think society has yet reached a level of awareness where it is deemed not acceptable.

Online some few people been advocating it on various niche forums, some random podcast on the radio comes and goes but generally no one gives two fucks let alone some active non acceptance.

Fireworks are in that place if we talk about bird law
there is growing non acceptance for fireworks

Why are outdoors cats so widely accepted? We have had cats for millennia. They are deeply ingrained in our cultures. We have known about their impact on local wildlife for less than 100 years. It will take time for it to be socially unacceptable to have a cat that is allowed outside.

Of course, customers may not be keen to buy anything after being led through the neighbours’ back hedge and across the garage roof.
