    [Putin] declared that he and Mr Xi were “as close as brothers”

    That’s nothing. The US elected someone who shared “love letters” with another of the Putin/Xi types in North Korea, and then went on to attempt a coup. Authoritarians love authoritarians.

    Putin is just a bitch these days, and Xi is isn’t much better.
