It’s a well-known fact that birth rates are declining, and a majority of young people don’t want to be parents, with many pointing to rising costs as their motivation, but plenty also say that they just don’t have the time, energy, patience, or that they just find kids annoying.

Thinking about this left me wondering: Could this mean that MAPs will become a larger share of the parent population?

Because MAPs are more likely to have or at least want children for obvious reasons, I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that this also means that the parenting rate for MAPs would go down more slowly compared to non-MAPs.

This, in turn, will lead to the ratio of MAP to non-MAP parents to increase, so I have to wonder if as more children are introduced to adult-child relationships through their parents, public opinion of MAPs might start to change a bit. Some of these kids will also grow up to be MAPs and have kids themselves, further increasing the share of MAPs in the population.

Who knows. Like I said this is just a random thought, but I could genuinely see something like this happening.
