Not surprised. We are learning that we miscalculated the climate sensitivity. Alas, it doesnt arrive with a giant banner, kicking down the door but just slowly sneaks in and then refuses to leave.

ICE can’t kill us all. The climate change our politicians and corporations are resolutely ignoring certainly can.
Even if they do pay attention to it, I think the global consensus is that it wouldn’t matter anyway… we are fucked.

That’s just what the “we don’t want to do anything” crowd pivoted to saying, now that you can’t flat out deny the problem anymore.If it wasn’t the global consensus, green tech would be free, because saving the planet would be more important than profit. Closing down cruise ships, private jets, etc.
The amount of progress we have made is next to nil on a planetary scale.
It’s great to desire it gets figured out, but don’t get your hopes up.
