Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

Absolute golden shot. This one will be in middle school history books by the time I’m retired when they’re gonna teach the kids about the rise and fall of fascism in the US.
You guys should get working on the fall part, seems to mainly be rise right now
I’m watching from Norway, so I can’t do much else than guarantee to the Americans that socialised public services work and properly educated and governed police doesn’t shoot people as their default reaction to any unexpected situation.
This is America now Republicans. Is this fucking free speech for you?
Truly the mark of a free and independent press.
They’re not seeing any of this. The oligarchs already won. They’ve turned classical media into their echo chamber now. And none of this penetrates much if at all. The oligarchs are just in a looting frenzy ATM before the collapse. And these rubes won’t be informed of any of this till long after the oligarchs have made their escape.
Why do these cameras not have a feature to auto upload or stream to a remote storage? They could easily use Wifi direct and send it to a hidden drive.
Because you don’t usually have a stable internet connection in the middle of a protest? And because that’s not a very useful way to accomplish what you’re trying to do
You can do some stuff like that, but camera firmware is pretty far behind the curve in terms of features. Add to that the fact that camera batteries die pretty quickly during use, and most people keep the wireless features turned off to conserve battery. Especially in a situation like this where stopping to charge/swap batteries leaves you vulnerable (if you even get a good chance), it’s unlikely that anyone makes that trade.
