I didn’t make this, and I didn’t realize when I posted that this poor meme has been fried by AI (check out the woman’s eyes, as others have pointed out). I don’t know if it was part of the original or if someone tried to run it through a filter, but it does look rough. Sorry!

You do post often so I imagined it was an honest mistake. I didnt notice at first too, but yeah, people are fucking lazy to use AI for this.

Yeah, 100% just didn’t notice. I honestly wonder if the person who made this version even realized it or if they grabbed an AI-fried template without noticing. Or if it was made, then someone tried to “improve” it between then and the time I found it.

Ugh. I wonder if I should just delete.

I think maybe just edit the title? Don’t know the procedure here tbh. Btw, thanks for all the content you post, you keep many communities alive!

Good idea. I’ll edit and put a note in the body at least.

And it’s my pleasure. I just really want to see federated social media make it.

I see this quite often, I suspect some default Gallery app just AI-upscales downloaded images without users’ knowledge. Someone downloads a thumbnail accidentally, it gets the AI treatment, you get major artifacting like this and they repost it somewhere else. I most often notice it on images of text, when all the letters are wobbly.

Nah, just a normal variation on a template.

Edit: now that you point that out, it looks like it has been changed. I wasn’t looking closely at the panels/not that familiar with the detail of the OG but actually comparing I think you’re right. If I had to guess the intention was to have AI make the HL3 logo but it changed other panels besides just that one. Boo.

It’s pretty cooked though. Almost all the detail is jpeg’d away. It’s also possible they used the source as a reference image and had AI replace part of it, which would explain the AI-like artifacts.

It looks disgusting and its the laziest use of AI I’ve ever seen. Not to mention it fucking up the artist’s signature

Is there weird compression or did the artist intentionally change up her eyes from the original?

Edit: Actually her hands are funky in some of these panels, did this get crunched through an AI filter?

With just a tiny bit of image software use nobody would’ve definitively known that this was AI-modified. Cut out the frame -> AI-modify -> put back in.
