Star Trek: Lower Decks S5E2 “Shades of Green”
To free up space on my nas I bought a dvd player last year and I’ve been buying star trek dvds on eBay as I watch them. Finishing ds9 now and moving to voy next. The prices range but I’d say each season averaged out to about $10 each and now i only have to buy it again if the discs rot. As someone in their 40s it’s weird coming full circle back to discs.
I intend to start with the Star Trek series… Someday. I don’t know much about it, but I do have a book or two.
But whatever happens, sail like a pirate!
You guys are paying to watch Star Trek?
I just record it off the Heroes & Icons Channel. They run an episode of TOS, NG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise every night (except Saturday), in order. Then I can skip the commercials and credits, too. No Discovery, but who cares? That just leaves Strange New Worlds to pirate. I guess Lower Decks and the new one, too, but that’s easy enough.
Forgetting someone?

There are less and less reasons for me to keep paying Netflix.
To be fair, I think there are more reasons to pay for Netflix than there are reasons to pay for Paramount+ that don’t rhyme with “Schmar Schmeck”.
And honestly, I’m looking to just switch to a Blu Ray/DVD collection; with Lower Decks and Prodigy over, I might as well just have their series BluRays. Maybe I’ll come back for SNW seasons (and maybe SFA if worth it) so the show can get some ratings or whatever.
As to avoid giving Paramount geezers cash, I’ll probably try to buy used from local businesses.
For DS9 and VOY, though, I’ll probably just buy DVDs for plausible deniability and then torrent one of the many upscales. There’s supposedly a nifty project where someone’s using a Domesday duplicator to rip DS9 and VOY seasons’ laser discs with Domesday duplicator because the DVD transfers of those seasons are so horrible.

I’m going to start asking people if they’re a friend of the Mistress of the Winter Constellations to see if they’re a pirate kind of like people used to say friend of Dorothy for gay guys.
