Generally whatever is locally produced as long as its not some bourgeois operation that costs more than imported stuff, consumed the way its meant to be consumed, eg baijiu and many wines are quite nice accompanying spicy food, but unpleasant on their own and overpower any more subtle tastes. Vodka is excellent for bringing out more subtle flavors, but pointless by itself.
My hottest take: tequila is genuinely unpleasant to drink and tastes worse than everclear.
Ugh, Tequila. When I was in my early 20s, my bar drink of choice was a shot of Cuervo Silver with a salted rim and a lime slice. I puked it up so many times that even the scent of straight Tequila makes me gag and I’m nearly 40 now.
Even the “good stuff” like the Don Julio my husband occasionally enjoys sipping.
I can still enjoy a good margarita on the rocks though, so it didn’t completely destroy Tequila for me.
I’m an IPA, Chianti or Malbec, Prosecco, and Gin girly though for the most part.

completely agree, I e.x. ditched Finlandia Vodka after finding out that it is owned by Coca Cola and I am also not a big fan of Tequila.
I sometimes buy flavoured Vodka & mix it with Energy but sometimes I drink the normal shots it depends on the quality and taste of it
