I remember there used to be rock, plant, scissors. The rock destroys the scissors. The scissors cut the plant. The plant grows and cracks the rock.
I had no idea the game dates to the Ming dynasty! I would have guessed it was 300 years old, not over 2000.
Rock, cloth and scissors makes so much more sense too.
