The assertion was a brazen effort to toss out the traditional boundaries that have long existed between the White House and investigations conducted by federal law enforcement.
This is how they make sure they get their cut, and can prosecute anybody who doesn’t cut them in.

I don’t see the need, they’ve been running all their fraud out of the white house this whole time.
This lets them make the decision about who gets prosecuted, so they can better protect their buddies and have those who don’t cut them in jailed
