That was why they were planning to send the military to Ohio, we are striking Venezuela because of sending gang members to the US, then because socialism, then corruption, then drug smuggling

this will be on the Trump MAGA citizenship test to maintain your citizen status, so remember it!

My Venezuelan cousins are happy. My Mexican girlfriend thinks it’s great. I feel like Iam taking crazy pills. My Cuban family are celebrating.

It’s like nobody can see the diplomatic or international implications. They don’t seem to understand that every LatAm country should be concerned and afraid.

I said something similar to my girlfriend and she said “you just don’t understand.” Maybe. But I don’t think she nor my cousins understand either.

This is imperialism at it’s most brazen. Trump is now emboldened and thinks, “I did what Putin could not. And I did it faster. Some say it’s the fastest. I don’t know if it’s the fastest, but maybe it is…”

Mark my words, he’ll do it again. And I think it will be to invade Mexico to “fight narco-terrorists.” He wouldn’t depose Sheinbaum, nor do I think he could easily *, but he’ll definitely make incursions over the border.

        * - I asterisked because I know the “Akshuallies” are going to come. Yes, I didn’t go down every single possible road in this scenario.

EDIT: Since I posted that I saw this: https://www.mediaite.com/media/tv/somethings-gonna-have-to-be-done-with-mexico-trump-floats-further-intervention-to-fox-friends/

        Mexico is next.

A lot of people also celebrated Trump’s 2nd term. Same thing really. You will find those same fools anywhere on earth. Most people on this planet are just really fucking dumb.

Every country everywhere just saw a unilateral “police action with military support”. We in the USA should think about what that means too

Both. When my family left Cuba for the United States in 1961, they had to stay in Venezuela for six months while they waited to come here. A number of them stayed in Venezuela. The rest went to Florida. My mom and uncle arrived here with my grandparents and great grandparents when my mom was 7 years old.

My Cuban family are embarrassing. Thankfully my mom has some sense and doesn’t vote GOP. The rest… they are lost.

Kinda, I was expecting a long drawn out operation, this is one of the quickest arrests of a leader that I can remember.

Maduro being arrested wont prevent this from turning into a long drawn out conflict. Just like Russias “special military operation” didnt end very quickly.

The real question is how the locals will react to this invasion. A lot of them hated the Maduro regime after it continued the economic decline of the country. OTOH they are about to be occupied by an imperialist country, have their natural resources plundered, and likely experience martial law. There’s no greater radicalizing influence than having a loved one killed or their property stolen by a hostile state.

There won’t be a military occupation in the sense of Humvees patrolling. It will be a political occupation, aka a puppet state, which is harder to physically fight against.

He’s speaking as he was already in control of the country. He’s not. Unless they manage to place their own puppet government that the Venezuelan population will accept (unlikely, as typically those are even worse for the population than the government they replace), they’re going to have to put boots on the ground and it’s going to get messy and expensive.

      messy and expensive.

      Expensive for whom, though?

The American people will pay the cost, in blood and tax money, for occupying Venezuela.

Big Oil, weapons manufacturers, and the Trump crime family, will reap the profits from it.

(Edit: and yes of fucking course the Venezuelan people will suffer far more than Americans safe in the imperial core. I thought that was so obvious it didn’t need to be fucking said.)

Every American invasion and occupation is another massive wealth transfer from the poor to the rich.

Socialism for the rich, rugged capitalism for the poor, isn’t that the saying?

Trump declared the VP the current president. That VP declared the US actions are/were BS and Maduro is still rightful president. But she is indeed in charge until he is returned. The Venezuelan government is still pretty much as it was yesterday.

Doesnt need to be approved for 60 days, and only needs notification (with specific provisions) within 48hrs.

And this is why it was about “national security” as it relates to “drugs”.

As much as I want to see that happen I really don’t think it would solve anything. If he dies then the same people are still running things. One person acting to remove one president is not sufficient. The collective people need to decide that this is not the kind of government we will accept and respond accordingly. There are several ways that could happen but anything less will not solve the problem. We started this, it won’t end until we stop it.

He’s in hurry. Needs to annex Greenland, pressure Canada to join the States , drill baby drill and hand over the fourth term to Jared before he keels over from dementia. He has no time to waste and those Epstein files need to be kept quiet somehow
