I primarily shoot 120 film but after shooting some 4x5, 35mm film seems so little.
i almost spent close to a thousand dollars on a VERY old digital full frame camera. i don’t know what i would’ve done with it, but i STILL kinda want it.
like the sensor is just SO BIG, god they’re cool.
Have you ever seen a Minox camera?
The Minox is so damn cute!
I have a few prints from a disk camera lying around
Disc film cameras had such cool form factors! I’ve heard the quality was pretty low since they were 10mmx8mm, is that your experience too?
Yeah, it’s like plastic lens quality but more uniform across the image. I mean basically crop anything to 10x8 and that’s what you get. I’m not sure the lens quality was there to begin with, but I have the prints because they’re from my childhood
I primarily shoot 120 film
6x7 gang rise up! 💪
Ah who am I kidding I haven’t shot on film in quite a few years but I absolutely loved my Pentax 6x7. Such beautiful images.
The 120 I shoot I typically do either 6x6 or 6x9, 6x6 on my Lubitel 166 and 6x9 on my Agfa box camera (can’t recall the name ATM)
A 6x7 camera is definitely on my to buy list
I’d love a larger format film camera. They’re just so expensive.
I started with a Lubitel 166b, they can be had pretty cheaply in pretty good condition. I got mine for about $75USD in working condition with OG packaging, manuals, and a carrying case. Though I’d recommend a Lubitel 166 Universal though as they can shoot both 6x6 and 645, which is really cool. (120 film, 12 frames per roll)
My Agfa Synchro Box camera was had for about $60USD and came with a carrying case. It shoots 6x9. (120 film, 8 frames per roll)
My Sputnik Stereo Camera was about $275, said to have been serviced recently, it needs a solid CLA though. Which sucks but ain’t the first time that’s happened. It shoots Stereo 6x6 photos. (120 film, technically 6 shots per roll)
My Graflex Speed Graphic was bought in “For Parts” condition for about $300, and it needed a lot of work on my part to get it working great. But it’s working like a dream now. It had stuck shutters, bend focusing rails, a filthy lens, and so much more. It shoots 4x5 sheet film. (individual 4x5 sheets)
I’d love to go larger but that’s when things go from expensive to nucking futs. Like just the film is like $200 for 25 black and white negatives. And the cameras are even more insane!
I have a half frame olympus pen, 35mm its fun. Makes the 35mm seem big lol
