Funny enough, there are very few Roman accounts of cats, period - they’re clearly known and around, but the Romans apparently were not incredibly fond of them except as mousers. And to be honest, I sympathize. XD
I know the Egyptians sometimes mummified their cats.
I am in tears, while carrying you to your last resting place as much as I rejoiced when bringing you home with my own hands 15 years ago.
