They already made this movie… it was called starship troopers and they did it properly.
Lin is not a gamer and leaned into that as a strength when pitching his take on the material, said insiders. He aims to find the humanity in the characters and weave timely themes into the story, while building out a world and mythology.
Why do I feel like this is a giant red flag lol, I swear we heard the exact same thing when the Halo show went into production and look how that turned out
I feel like the F&F franchise is a decent background to do Helldivers, the delivery of over the top cheesiness that still takes itself seriously fits, imo.
Note that that is my impression of the F&F movies, I’ve never actually watched one 😅
Having said that, he absolutely needs to understand the unique tone of the game and, as another commenter said, that quote saying that he’s never played it is definitely cause for concern.
Also, they better not make it fucking PG.
