Lack of systems thinking /understanding.
A long time ago I used to think I was not autistic. I remember complaining to my wife about something, probably vehicle traffic, and saying “why can’t they see the system?” Eventually this turned into almost a catch phrase I would use to complain about people in general.
In retrospect I find it pretty funny that I ever doubted.
What’s system understanding?
Understanding the larger picture beyond the immediate scope. Example of lacking: complaining about traffic while literally being traffic.
Omg yeeeessss. Almost daily once my family constantly asked “why do you take the train? Makes you dependend on the unreliable DB and takes 20 minutes longer to your work place”
Yes, BROOT, buuut these 20 minutes extra are walking from train to tram, from tram to work. Its also cheaper instead of blowing 100€ each weak on gas alone i pay 58€ (soon to be 63€) monthly and can use any regional public transport. Not to speak of trying to find a parking spot, car repair, stress from driving, environmental costs, increased insurance and so on.
On the trainstation. I read. If the train is delayed. I continue reading or if its for a long time, look around the city some more.
I cant wait to move from near them on the country side to inside the city. Yes it might be 200€ more expensive than on the countryside (i shit you not, thats the difference). Then i fully can get rid of my car because right now i still need it to get to the car because no public transport is running when i need it. But the 200€ will be out done by the costs i save on car expenses and health
