It’s surprising the music industry is still trying to put an end to piracy at all, it seemed like a lost cause already a decade ago.
I figured a whole lot of “the kids” never even really did the piracy thing and instead went right to things like Spotify anyway…I though the idea of actually curating your own music (legal or otherwise) was something so passe.
The misconception is that they want to end it. They don’t. They want it to exist, then they want to sue companies for damages.

In 2019, a jury sided with the music industry and said Cox owed $1 billion in damages
This suing for damages is lucrative AF.
