A very well written and researched piece that gives us specifics to why the leadership in the Democratic party failed everyone.
I find the part about looming fascism a bit puzzling though mainly because the rest of the piece makes extensive claims about corporate influence throughout it. I think it is the white elephant in this room and the driving factor of why US politics are so corrupted.

The criticism in the cartoon and book are utterly warranted and if Democrats as a party don’t start acknowledging their role in the perpetual failure state which is their politics, well never be able to stem the tide of fascism.
Democrats are the core of the issue and if not for their insipid, deeply cynical view of politics, we could have stopped Trump in 2015 during the Democratic primary.
There’s no stopping fascism in a party with people who refuse to engage in the necessary and appropriate self reflection required to become a party that can stop fascism, and those who would shield or dismiss that criticism (since 2015) are and have always been the biggest threat to building a movement which can stop fascism. They are the true enemy, because they claim resistance but refuse to allow for the necessary change which would make resistance possible.
It would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.

In the last elections there were several candidates and parties that ran under a socialist or a communist party.
