Oliver wrote an internal Lightcone Infrastructure memo that lists the top enemies of the Rationality movement. He saw fit to post his Enemies List to the site, because that’s a very normal thing to do.
no. 2 is a neoreactionary troll who ran a downvote bot in 2013-2014.
Emile Torres is only #3, sorry Emile some of us are just better at increasing existential risk
no. 4 is Ziz. I am officially considered worse than the literally murderous death cult.
what can i say some of us have just got it
also I trounce complete pikers like (checks notes) Peter Thiel
LessWrong used to call themselves a “phyg” in the hope that the word “cult” would not show up in Google so much as being associated with them

Okay this wasn’t as dramatic as thought it’d be. And the list seems to be merely alphabetic.
It’s some weird wrongthink policy initiative?
He should have mentioned SBF, whose red flags they spectacularly failed to notice despite so many people telling them to, but I guess that’s too painful of a thought lol
Eugine is after Emile alphabetically
so no, I AM NUMBER ONE
Here’s a little lesson in trickery This is going down in history If you wanna be a sneerer number one You have to chase a lesswronger on the run!
Also, were you ever actually “asked to leave” as such or did you just start to recognize the bullshit and show yourself out? Or did you, as seems to be the more common trail to sneerclub, drop offline for unrelated reasons and circle back some time later to realize you were no longer 15?
I was never in fact asked to leave, I just left
I posted twice after that, once to say it wasn’t me who first posted Roko’s basilisk to RationalWiki and once to suggest that organising a wikipedia shilling effort would not work out well for them
EDIT: no wait I didn’t post about Roko’s basilisk? I just edited the wiki entry with the correct cite
Oh and also the roko guy. His idea of a time travelling evil robot sunk little credibility they had deeper and contributed to the internet urban legends collection, for which I am thankful.
Fun fact: In the original telling the robot is supposed to be the good guy, the eternal torment dungeon is just part of its optimal strategy to beat out actually evil robot overlords from existing first.
I think we can all concur it maximises utility for all humanity across the quantum waveform of the universe to kick a million copies of Roko in the nuts forever
Why not make an evil time travelling robot controlled by the illuminati?
bro it’s even called AlexanderMaybe they simply yearn to write Final Fantasy villains
