i think we all had a point in our lives as communists where we didn’t really understand DiaMat, but understood the basics enough to be confidently wrong about all sorts of shit because we thought we had figured it all out already

at least i definitely did. shoutout to all my comrades who are still learning, you got this and try not to let being right most of the time go to your head

          For absolute Beginners,

          1. On contradiction and On Practice by Mao.
          2. Dialectical Materialism: The Theoretical Foundation of Marxism-Leninism by Vladimir Adoratsky.

          Then, read Marx and Engels.

  • I remember a point, where I was like:“I already know capitalism is bad, why do I need to learn this complex shit on top of it? Is dialectics even real? Marx and Engels probably just read too much Hegel.” Now I try to explain Engels three laws to my bookclub in the first session and frame everything in terms of contradictions. I still have a lot to learn though.

This hit right in the feels. DiaMat is like crack. Suddenly it is all so easy to solve and stuff begins to make sense. It is really hard to not want to kick others if they go full reactionary or idealist on you. It does thin out the friendlist fast if employed right.

And if applied really right - you get to keep the same list of much better friends.

Nope, Urthemiel is the Archdemon of the Fifth Blight, the one that starts and ends in Origins. The Archdemon you’re probably thinking of is Dumat, Archdemon of the First Blight, like, 1300 years earlier. (also first mentioned in origins, but that’s probably because that’s literally the first game in the series.)

I’m going to assume you’re correct. I just played the franchise as pretty princess dress-up dating simulator, and might have solved a Blight and turned a lady into red glass at some point along the way. So my lore recollection may be slightly off.
