This is from June this year.
Hmm, well I hadn’t heard about it. They just updated the “UserVoice” page so I was notified. Maybe if they had a separate feed for product updates and announcements from their SEO spam I would read them.
Its a bit dissapointing. When I saw this I was hoping that it would be an actual way to manage ssh keys and sync them, but it is just for copy pasting them like passwords, now the field is called ssh key
Applause
Maybe I will have to consider using proton pass over Bitwarden. This was one of those things that had me returning to Bitwarden as proton pass wasn’t fully baked yet.
Proron Pass still doesn’t have any setting for how it matches domains/URLs to saved passwords.
That’s actually a pretty big feature for me. Having different logins for the different services on my server means I need to match the IP and port for the URL.
I don’t think ProtonPass even recognizes port’s, I recall it would bring the login for every different web-app/selfhosted service for that specific IP.
Reverse proxying is a saviour that’s for sure.
Pass can’t distinguish between subdomains. So all my home <service>.<domain> items in Pass are suggested for each <service> I access.
I remember having an issue similar to this! I believe the login for the root of my domain was the cause of this, it’s very finicky but I manage to get it to grab the right login for the right subdomain on my desktop, mobile is horrible though and doesn’t work nearly as well.
I got a full screen ad when I opened my inbox last week. Closed the app as to not interact with their hostile action. Reopened my inbox, tap the email I was trying to read, and this fucking thing pops back over. Never gonna happen.

You’re on a free account. Do you realy expect them to never try to sell their actual product to you? I bet you never saw this until the upgrade was on sale.
Seriously, of all the things to get upset about…
At least Proton (on paid plan anyway) doesn’t spam you with the promotions, unlike the competition you can tell them to fuck off after showing it once instead of “remind me later”.
I agree. Their incessant advertising to paying users is extremely annoying.
E: Proof for the downvoters

That ad was for an upgrade from free to plus. Not a paying user.
And I’ve only seen ads to upgrade once or twice a year, max. Specifically when they’re running some kind of discount. Does that really count as incessant? How often and for how long does one qualify for incessant.
I mean probably a dozen times a year in various places. Also every time I change devices it adds “sent from ProtonMail” to the bottom of my emails. I have to disable this per-device.
I’m a paying user and have not had a single advert from them in 3 years…
I pay for the Duo plan only for the support with SMTP/IMAP on custom domains along side the 1Tb drive space. I only ever notice the ads on ProtonPass trying to upgrade me to the family plan.
Really not as intrusive or annoying as people make it out to be but I must agree as a paying user we should not have to deal with ads.
Ditto
I don’t believe you.
Are you using Proton Unlimoted, or a single service?
Unlimited
Interesting. When I only paid for one service, I would see the occasional upgrade offer in other services. But not with Unlimited. There’s not much to up-sell you on when you’re already on unlimited except Duo or Family. So not much incentive to display ads.
There’s a giant ad literally every time I open the settings menu, “recommending” that I upgrade to Duo, even though I’m the only person I know who uses Proton. Unfortunately I have to use the shitty settings menu nearly every day because there’s no convenient way to block domains.
There’s also a “BLACK FRIDAY SALE” ad at the top right. Right now.
Ok
Unlimited user here, only ad ive seen from them is the updated icon on the app store that is too small to read. Beyond that, didnt even know they were doing a sale untill a colleague of mine brought it up.
