As of a couple of months ago, sort of. I have a Google Pixel 8 and only recently got a reasonably well-compensated job. I got the phone in 2023, shortly before I was laid off, and it was on a fire sale in anticipation of the Pixel 9 release, so I’m only paying $4/month for it, $100 total plus the $70 up front.
My car is a 2007 model year that I could only afford because it was in an accident previously, though.
For now. I’m just hoping that the Pixel lasts until Fairphone brings back the headphone jack and the car lasts until I can move somewhere where I don’t need one.
