The sci-fi action film, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, also garnered an additional £30m ($40m) overseas, making it the most expensive instalment in the franchise at £79m ($40m) overseas, making it the most expensive instalment in the franchise at £79m ($105 m).

    What?

Same creative team from Prey. Glad this one’s doing well too. The franchise needed new blood and new ideas. Predators was cool but it didn’t need more AvP or The Predator type direction.

Good to hear. I’ve only heard all these attacks so far but Prey kicks ass. That’s just objective fact.

Wow, I did not care for Prey. I always enjoyed the ‘grounded’ feel of the first 2 predator movies. Ya you had to suspend disbelief a little, but the humans were using what they had.

In Prey i saw a the best trained dog in the Universe, a physics-defying magic weapon made by a human with no tech, and impossible feats of athleticism. That girl was basically a superhero.

I hope this one is different.

Was prey the “aliens came to steal our autist” plotline and had a pedo in the cast so production got t-boned 90% of the way through by controversy?

On almost every conceivable level that move went down in flames.

          no, that was The Predator.

Prey was a Predator turning up in colonial America and getting taken down by a Comanche hunter.

Previously saw AVP but remember nothing about it, that is the extent of my Predator knowledge/exposure. Hubby and I saw this yesterday. It wasn’t great but I did like the ending. Not necessarily opposed to seeing future movies.

Also was SUPER distracted by Predator mouth parts 😂
