The bold architectural choice was a literal step down from conventional living rooms.

GenX here. I thought they were dope but never knew anyone who had one. I’d love it but my drunk ass would fall into the pit every night. About fell in our little 150G pond last night, fell in with both feet 3 weeks ago.

Millenial, myself: I had extended family that had sunken living rooms (and one great aunt who had a bitchin’ split-level home). I still think those are super nice, and I build them into my Sims homes (the only home I’ll ever own 😭).

My ex father in law built a cabin in northern Alberta with a very cozy sunken couch/seating area around the wood stove. Always wanted something like that. They weren’t swingers, though he did carve the most beautiful boob book ends. He was a wonderful guy.

Can confirm. Buddy of mine… his father hosted key parties at his house back in the day.

      Sunken living room.

I think bunker living rooms are about to be big, I’ve already ordered an excavator and ten trucks of concrete to build mine.

Does anyone know where you can buy lead-lined steel doors?

Lead is too expensive to mine nowadays. They use artificial lead made with micro plastics.
