I’m having a catch up day today for the last 3 prompts. Here’s the second! I’m speed sketching today but I opted to use some color.
I’ve seen one very excellent sketch of the star ship Firefly, which I figured would be a popular interpretation but so far just the one! I wanted to go a bit cartoonier but didn’t want to just straight copy like the Princes and the Frog firefly or some other version. So I started with a photo reference of a real firefly and ended up with this slightly messy, uncanny little fellow.

Aw, he’s just a lil guy! This is really cute and I like the decision to go with green over yellow. The green plus the design gives it a sci-fi feel to it. :)
