From afar, Table Rock Mountain is a highly photographed peak in the Linville Gorge and well known in the area. Up close, the trail leaves a little to be desired with not much in the way of views either along the way or up top, and as such I recommend doing it along with other local trails.

Looking up at Table Rock Mountain from the parking area at the ‘true’ start of the trail. One tree has begun its fall coloration while the majority still have their green hue.

Looking west into Linville Gorge from the small viewing area on top of Table Rock Mountain.

The landslide section of the road going up to the main trailhead. While no danger as a footpath, it was deemed that the heavier weight of cars may lead to further degradation.
Since I won’t be able to do as much hiking for the wintertime, from here on out I’ll be jumping back in time for my daily hikes. Likely will start with hikes from earlier this year (Redwoods mainly), and once I get through that I’ll go chronologically through last years hikes, mostly Southwest US.
So these really are hikes you’re doing every day, or just about?
Yeah, everything I post is done by me, and more or less every day. Although sometimes its more that I’ll do two or three shorter ones in a day and then there are times where I’ll have a few days off for whatever reason.
