Pretty sure the Empire of Mankind would want to keep the ring. Or be on the side of Sauron to unite Middle earth under one rule.
Sauron works with Orcs, the xenos loving scum must be purged.
Theoden of Rohan is the most likely candidate. A capable military leader, not corrupted by witchery, and not a half-breed abomination like Aragorn.
True. But that also means they are not joining the Fellowship.
So probably the ‘burn everything down and try to take the ring for themselves’ route.
They might join a quest destroy a chaos tainted artifact, though they’d likely purge all non-Astartes involved once they’re done.
Might depend on how much experience the involved Astartes have with inquisitorial operations.
