      Yeah, at least that’s pretty likely to route back to the source. Imagine if all the lost packets over the years were still out there somewhere - talk about DDoS!

        counter point: iirc, random walk in 3d is not likely to end back at origin. now most avian species are not random walkers, but assuming they are hit by storm or some other direction disorienting shit.

        in 2d (i guess earth’s oceanic surface would count 2d (non platonic though), and in 2d random walk, there is a non zero chance to return to origin.
