What a lot of religious people and atheists alike can’t possibly conceive is so many people who claim a faith don’t take every single word of the world’s holy writ as literal, nor do we feel the need to explain it to nonadherents or fellow adherents of our own sects of our own faiths. I feel like Thiel probably fits this description (though we obviously can’t know). And fine, cherry pick if you want, but for me personally, to claim Christianity as my faith wouldn’t be to seemingly discard the words of the man the for whom the faith was literally named in favor of whomever he’s justifying this. Like for me, it’s easier to discard the words of any apostle or teacher that came after that or was even contemporary, but since he’s not explaining to us directly, who really knows how he justifies it.

It’s interesting to me that the very Randian Leveyan satanists claim him as their Messiah. To my way of thinking, this is exactly a fit.
