I put official in quotation marks for a reason. To my knowledge, any character or timeline changes within STO are considered Beta canon. Was mostly just amused that the instance involved Kirk.
there used to be system in sto where people could create their own stories, unofficial “missions” for their friends to play, but that system was slashed long time ago. whatever is is STO now was put there by the devs.
I wasn’t concerned about any level of canon, but rather if the content was actually published by the franchise and not just some random fan unaffiliated with the rights to the characters and universe.
