The amount of blood reminds me of the historic Bud Dwyer video. -If i were to speculate i’d say it looks like Kirk had a very sudden and near total loss of blood pressure to his head when he was hit which leads me to think that he probably lost consciousnous before he knew what hit him.
I am not a medical professional. Nervous system was instantly affected and his body flung to the so callev teapot arms position. You are VERY unlikely to survive a shot like that under the BEST care in the world given that as we all can see, no amount of pressure on the wound can stop the blood loss. The last 5-6 seconds of your life are just a fade to black, pain is no longer a concept for your brain, you got quite literally unplugged and your body never knows what happened.
