TIL the French Novel/Memoir “Métaphysique des Tubes” (lit. metaphysics of tubes) by Amélie Nothomb was translated in English as “the Character of Rain”. Weird choice.

Reminds of beginning of Amelie. Just coincidence, I suppose but there’s that innocent sense of wonder and vulnerability as well as a very French sensibility and what seems like pretty brilliant, innovative and adventurous direction.
