We desperately need a third option for phones. Apple is Apple, Google has more or less become Microsoft. We need a Linux variant for phones.
Hopefully, this will push that, and maybe RISC becoming viable?
I don’t know, the way things are going I see upstart manufacturers having enormous trouble with things like mobile carrier frequency licensing/access, as well as institutions blocking access (ie banking)

Is the title wrong? The way it’s worded made me think the end user must have developer verification in order to side load “unverified” apps.But the article states:
only apps from developers that have undergone verification can be installed on certified Android devices starting in 2026.
Which means that they want “unverified” apps to be literally uninstallable.
How easy is it to enforce this? I don’t know android specifics, but maybe f-droid (which compiles from source) will bypass this?
From what I understanding they want implement same thing as ios have u have temporalale/permanent certificate as developer to install something on phone otherwise u done
