All original Dungeon Keeper code has been rewritten, establishing KeeperFX as a true open-source standalone game. Ownership of the original game is still and will always be required for copyright reasons.
When installing KeeperFX 1.0, perform a fresh installation without overwriting any previous versions. Saved games cannot be migrated. There is a [wiki](https://github.com/dkfans/keeperfx/wiki) that holds answers to most of the questions you may have, and we have a large and friendly [discord community](https://discord.gg/hE4p7vy2Hb) where we welcome all friendly new members.

I remember loving this way back in the day. What an amazing labor of love. I hope the original devs can learn how loved their original creation remains.
That was the only truly abysmal early access experience I’ve had. I randomly heard about it, and picked it up in “bedrock beta”. Nothing worked. At all. It should have been pre-alpha internal testing only at that point, but they were selling early access.
Never went back to give it another shot. Maybe it evolved into a decent game, but it left a very bad taste in my mouth to advertise early access on a not even working proof of concept level of work.
I backed it on kickstarter, and played it again recently. It’s pretty good now!
I mean, it was way better than what you describe for a LONG time, but it’s gone through so many updates now that it’s far better than it was even on launch.

The Original devs released “War for the Overworld” a few years ago. It’s as close to DK as it could without copyright issues

Just looking at those screenshots made me nostalgic. I forgot how good the graphics were for that time and the fantastic 1st person mode, really cool.
For me it would awesome if they could achieve porting it to Android, I am not playing that much on PC anymore. But thats my problem obviously.
