I voted blue every time Trump was up. There’s midterms and shit too, but god damn, you live a red state, and you get republicans. Maybe that has more to do with using the r-slur that dehumanizes disabled people when used in that manner and that most of us understood to phase it out two decades ago than anything having to do with a neutral word to describe heavy topics.

Honestly I sorta figured since most insults necessarily compare someone to a percieved bad thing. Active slurs are a step up from that, usually, and so I’m perfectly happy to avoid them and if there’s something that’s just a bit too direct even if it’s lost most of its original connection, like certain words based on the “Gypsy” root, I’ll also take steps to avoid them.
