“No you don’t get it. It’s only pandering when it’s to anyone other than straight white men. My experience is the default and I expect all media to depict it as such.”

      Also those guys:

Straight white couple in a TV show having 90% of all screen time: “yes, look at all the different people, wonderful like god created everyone of them”

Sidecharacter kisses a person of the same sex for half a second: “FoRcEd dIvErSiTy BAD!!!”

The kind of people who sneer at holocaust memorials and call them obscene because they make them feel bad.

I mean, they make me feel bad too, no question about it… But that’s exactly why they’re necessary.

In my gaming community, all those visual novels were coming out and people were losing it.

And like dude, those games aren’t for you.

4chan rotted a lot of people’s brain, and thought they should keep gaming (/anime/whatever) a “niche”. Then these people decided the “niche” means “only straight cishet white men are allowed”.

I don’t get the reference, are there people like this, and what art are they defending? I don’t think it makes the sense that art should pander to everyone, and the meme is kind of making fun of people who think that way.

Lot of gaming/nerd culture chuds use the “art doesn’t need to be for everyone” argument to “gatekeep” everyone not them and force conservative ideology into their favorite media. Also they like to use the “fake fans” arguments why nothing else should be for anyone. At least Asmongold became honest about it.
