I wanted to work in desalinization research.
There wasn’t a single grant or business i could find to work for that was working on advancing acessable desalinization. IMO one of the most important endeavors currently, no way for me to live while working to make the largest body of water drinkable at scale.

Taking care of yourself and seeking some personal happiness outside of work is the most radical choice one can make in this world.
My brother and I have had multiple business ideas that we thought were pretty good, but never went for it because we had families to support and couldn’t risk not having healthcare for our young kids.
M4A would be a huge boon to entrepreneurship, but then the corporate overlords would lose one of their best ways of keeping us in check and we can’t have that.
This is the shit I talk to my therapist about. This is what causes me distress. I keep asking the question, “what are we trying to save? What are we struggling so hard for?” Then I see some young talent doing a TikTok dance and realize, “Oh. This. This is why I care so much.”

I heard someone complaining about the lack of innovation now days(I know kind of stupid I know but ok) I think it was Peter thiel (anogram The Reptile) but one thing that has been very good for innovation regardless of time period has been free time, how can people truly push the bounds of whats and what could if they have to save all their effort and will just to survive like hunter gatherers
