I don’t know exactly what futa means, but I’ve blocked enough lemmy communities with it in the title to know I should not google it.

        Now I’m left with questions:

        • so they just have penises, but identify as girls?
        • are they different than “T girls”, or just the same thing in anime?
        • does that only apply to anime, or IRL porn too?
        • is there a name for the inverse? Boys with vaginas?

          1. Most futa content i’ve seen has both sets of genitalia, for whatever reason. They’re girls though yes.

          2. Pretty sure they are yes, i remember people getting mad when trans girls are called futa.

          3. Typically the term futa is used for animated or anime pornography, but i’ve seen it used on irl porn too occasionally.

          4. That is a good question, i am now asking the same thing

The balls are a new thing. In the 90s and and the mid 2010s the only had penises. Think extended clitoris. Now they tend to have balls for whatever reason. Worse it seems that people have gotten lazy and started tagging characters with no vaginas as futa.

Remember it’s Women with penises, not Men with vaginas.

“Futanari” is influenced by transgender porn, except the artists “idealized” them since it’s fiction. Some early futanari stories involved said characters being de-facto trans or intersex women.

However, many artists nowadays started to omit the vagina part of their futanari, thus making them closer to real-life trans women, and there’s also an uptick of actual trans hentai.

Other fun fact is that sometimes you can find de facto trans hentai under the otokonoko label too, current Bridget is often done like that. Allegedly done because of westerners harassed and doxxed Japanese artists that didn’t keep her a femboy, because transphobes like to virtue signal about “transing the femboys” (the same exact people called me “one of those weird homosexuals that go through surgeries to convert straight men to homosexuality” for being a long-haired metalhead, also the trap meme originates from “gay bamboozling”, where you tricked your mates to jerk off to trans or femboy porn).
