I kind of get the impression that the writers watched Ghost in the Shell at one point. Not that it’s an incredibly unique trope to transfer human consciousness to a robot I guess, but it does remind me of the Major from GitS. And I quite like the idea.
The trailer looks amazing, but having just watched Alien: Romulus the gestation period for xenomorphs is just so fast that if they ever landed on earth I get the feeling that it’d be game over (man) in a matter of weeks or months, so I can’t wait to see the show and figure out how they handle that ‘mechanic’.

If it’s one egg, it’s only one chestburster and consequently one alien initially. That then has to web humans to turn them into eggs (O’Bannon/Scott canon) or turn into a queen to lay more eggs (Cameron canon).

A webbed human* ‘became’ an egg with only a drone, no queen, in a universe/canon at some point?

        Edit: grammar

It’s in a deleted scene of the first movie and re-integrated into the director’s cut. And in the Ridley Scott made Alien movies since Prometheus there hasn’t been a single mention or glimpse of the queens.
